Hello

Welcome to the Sober Now Initiative

Sober Now Initiative is not a program. We are a brotherhood. We are the men who show up, lock shields, and refuse to let another man fall alone. We are faith-driven, straight-talking, and relentlessly hopeful — not because life is easy, but because God is faithful.

Who We Serve

We serve adult men who are committed to their sobriety and ready to do the work. Our residents come from all backgrounds and walks of life. What unites them is a desire for something better — and the courage to reach for it.

God never designed a man to fight life alone. Lone wolves may look tough, but they are the easiest prey. Pride tells a man to isolate. Strength tells a man to lock shields with other godly men.

Life knocks men down with temptation, discouragement, sin, failure. The question isn’t if you’ll stumble. The question is who will be there to grab your arm and pull you back to your feet.

Real brotherhood isn’t built on small talk, football, or handshakes on Sunday morning. It’s built on truth, accountability, and men who care enough to step in when a brother starts drifting.

A godly man doesn’t let another man fall and stay there. He reaches down, pulls him up, and points him back toward the path God laid out.

Because in God’s design, men stand stronger shoulder to shoulder than they ever will standing alone.

We meet men where they are and help them get to where God is calling them to be.

The Brotherhood Prayer

Lord - Make me the kind of man who doesn’t walk alone and doesn’t leave my brothers behind. Give me the courage to lift others up when they fall and the humility to accept help when I stumble. Build strong brotherhood around me. Men who love You, speak truth, and walk in righteousness. Strengthen us to stand together and honor You in the battles of life. Amen.

“Two are better than one… If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.”

Ecclesiastes 4:9–10

Our Story

Sober Now Initiative was born out of a simple but powerful conviction: that every man deserves a real chance at recovery — not just a bed to sleep in, but a community to belong to, a foundation to stand on, and a God who never gives up on them.

We are a faith-based nonprofit organization located in Upstate South Carolina, providing structured sober living housing for men in recovery from substance use disorder. We combine the proven accountability of the 12-step program with the transforming power of Christ-centered community.

We don't just house men in recovery. We walk with them — from their first day through their graduation — until they are truly set up for success.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at ron@sobernowinitiative.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

To provide faith-based sober living housing for men in recovery, offering Christ-centered community, 12-step accountability, and life restoration services that equip residents to graduate into lasting sobriety and independent, purposeful living.

A community where no man in recovery is left without hope, a home, or a hand to hold — where every man who walks through our doors leaves equipped, empowered, and walking in the freedom God designed for him.

  • Faith — We trust God's power to transform lives completely.
  • Accountability — We believe structure and community create the conditions for real change.
  • Restoration — We are committed to whole-life healing — spiritual, practical, and relational.
  • Dignity — Every man in our care is treated with the worth God placed in him.
  • Community — No one recovers alone. We do this together.

We believe lasting recovery requires more than willpower. It requires transformation — and true transformation happens when a man encounters the grace of God. Our program doesn't push faith on anyone, but we openly operate from a Biblical worldview and believe that spiritual healing is essential to whole-life recovery.

The Sober Now Initiative program is built around one goal: setting you up for success — not just while you're here, but for the rest of your life.

We provide structured, supportive housing with daily programming designed to address every dimension of recovery — spiritual, practical, and personal.

Faith-Based Programming

Daily Bible study, prayer, worship, and Christ-centered community form the spiritual backbone of your recovery. We connect you to local churches and faith communities to build a support network that extends beyond our walls.

12-Step Accountability

Our program incorporates the proven 12-step model alongside faith-based principles. Regular meetings, sponsor connections, and peer accountability structures keep you focused, honest, and growing.

Life Restoration Services

We help you handle the practical building blocks of a stable life, including:

  • Obtaining your Social Security card, birth certificate, and government-issued ID
  • Job readiness coaching and employment placement assistance
  • Budgeting and personal finance basics
  • Independent living skills
  • Connection to community resources and support networks

House Structure & Rules

Our home operates with clear expectations, consistent routines, and trained house management. Structure is not punishment — it's the framework that makes recovery possible. Residents are expected to participate in programming, maintain sobriety, contribute to the household, and pursue employment or education.

Every resident enters with a goal: to complete the program and graduate into independent, sober living. Graduation means you have your documents, you have employment, you have a savings foundation, you have a support network, and you are ready to stand on your own — with God beside you.

This is what success looks like at Sober Now Initiative. This is what we work toward — together.
